Privacy policy
Effective and last updated: October 3, 2026
Patry E-Commerce Group ("we", "us" or "our") provides business strategy, brand identity, Shopify website development, optimization and related services. This Privacy Policy explains how we handle personal information when you visit patryecomgroup.com, contact us, discuss a project or work with us.
Our website presents our services and lets you submit project inquiries. Sending an inquiry does not subscribe you to marketing or create a service agreement. This policy is a notice about our practices; it is not a request for blanket consent to every use of your information.
1. Information we collect
- Contact and inquiry information: your name, email address, business name and website, business type, project stage, current platform, budget range, preferred timing, working arrangement, requested support and the message you send. We also receive information you provide by email or phone, including your phone number if you choose to share it.
- Client and project information: proposals, agreements, business requirements, project communications, content and assets you supply, approvals, billing details and payment records where relevant to our engagement.
- Website information: IP address, device and browser details, pages viewed, interactions, referral information and cookie or similar identifiers. Shopify and enabled technologies process this information to operate and secure the website and, subject to applicable consent requirements, support analytics and personalization.
- Privacy and communication preferences: consent choices, subscription preferences where applicable, and requests concerning your information.
Required fields in our inquiry form help us understand and respond to your request. Other fields are optional. You may contact us by email instead, or leave optional fields blank. If necessary information is missing, we may need to ask for it before preparing a proposal or delivering services.
Please do not send passwords, payment card numbers, government identification, sensitive personal records or your customers' data through the general inquiry form. If project access or additional information is needed, we will arrange an appropriate method separately.
2. How we use information
We use information relevant to the following purposes:
- Responding to inquiries, understanding your business and assessing whether our services fit your project.
- Preparing proposals, defining scope, managing agreements and delivering the services you request.
- Communicating about project progress, support, billing and our working relationship.
- Operating, maintaining, securing and improving our website and services.
- Sending marketing communications when you have consented or another lawful basis permits them. You may unsubscribe using the link provided or contact us directly.
- Meeting legal obligations, maintaining required records, handling complaints, resolving disputes and protecting against misuse.
We seek consent where required and limit our use to the purposes explained when information is collected, or other purposes permitted by law. Withdrawing marketing consent does not prevent us from responding to your inquiry or sending necessary project communications.
3. Who receives information
Within our business, access is limited to people who need the information for inquiry handling, project delivery, administration, billing or privacy responsibilities. Relevant information may also be processed by:
- Shopify: to host and operate this website, process website interactions and form submissions, provide security and deliver the services described below.
- Microsoft Outlook: to receive and manage emails, including inquiries delivered to our business inbox.
- Service providers and project collaborators: where needed for an agreed engagement, such as hosting, file storage, project coordination, technical support and professional accounting or legal advice. We limit access to what is needed for the task and require appropriate confidentiality and protection.
- Authorities or other recipients: when disclosure is legally required, necessary to establish or defend legal rights, or made at your request or with your consent. A business reorganization or transfer may involve information subject to applicable safeguards.
The Shopify data uses below are relevant even if you do not become a client.
4. Shopify and enhanced services
Our website is hosted by Shopify. Shopify receives information about your access to and use of the website to operate, protect and improve its services.
Shopify Network Intelligence is enabled for this website. Through its Enhanced Services, Shopify may combine information about your interactions here with information from interactions with other merchants and Shopify to improve products, personalization and advertising. Shopify is responsible for certain processing it performs for these purposes, including responding to requests about that processing.
Read the Shopify Consumer Privacy Policy for details. You can also use the Shopify Privacy Portal to learn about and exercise applicable rights directly with Shopify.
5. Cookies and your choices
Shopify uses cookies and similar technologies for website functionality, security and preferences. Non-essential technologies may support analytics, personalization and advertising, including the enhanced services described above.
Where consent is required, non-essential technologies must remain inactive until you opt in. Use the website's cookie banner or privacy controls, where displayed, to accept, decline or manage these categories. You may also block or delete cookies in your browser, although this can affect functionality and may clear saved preferences. Browser controls alone do not necessarily stop all information processing.
Contact our Privacy Officer if you need help changing your choices or cannot find the relevant privacy controls. For information about Shopify's cookies, see Shopify's Cookie Policy.
6. Information handled for clients
A website or optimization engagement may require access to a client's Shopify store or systems. When we handle personal information on a client's behalf, the agreed scope, client instructions and applicable data protection obligations govern that work. The client remains responsible for its own customer-facing privacy notices and lawful collection of information.
If your request concerns information held by one of our clients, contact that business first. We will assist with requests within our role and applicable obligations.
7. Storage outside Quebec and Canada
Our providers may store or process information outside Quebec and Canada, including in the United States. Shopify currently identifies the United States as this store's customer-data hosting location. Provider infrastructure and the locations used by other services may vary.
Information processed abroad may be subject to local laws and lawful access by authorities. Transfers must follow applicable privacy requirements, including required assessments and contractual protections. Contact us for more information about providers used for your particular project.
8. Retention and security
We retain personal information for as long as it is needed for the purpose for which it was collected, including responding to an inquiry, delivering a project, managing an ongoing relationship or keeping legally required records. Relevant factors include the status of the request or engagement, recordkeeping obligations and unresolved disputes. When information is no longer needed, it is deleted or anonymized as permitted by law, subject to applicable backup and legal retention requirements.
We use safeguards appropriate to the information and its sensitivity, including limiting access and using the security controls available in our service platforms. No website, email service or storage system can guarantee absolute security. Please notify us promptly if you suspect unauthorized access to information connected with your project.
9. Your privacy rights
Depending on the law that applies, you may request access to your personal information, correction of inaccuracies, withdrawal of consent, deletion where permitted, or a portable copy of eligible information. Other rights may apply, including restrictions on certain uses or requests relating to the dissemination of information. Legal exceptions can limit these rights.
Send requests to our Privacy Officer using the contact details below. Please describe the information or interaction concerned. We may need reasonable identity verification before disclosing or changing information. We respond within the applicable legal deadline; Quebec access and correction requests are generally subject to a 30-day response period. If a request cannot be granted, we will explain the reason and applicable recourse.
You may raise a concern directly with us without affecting your access to our services. You may also contact the Commission d'accès à l'information du Québec or another privacy authority with jurisdiction over your complaint.
10. Other websites and children
Links to external websites do not place those sites under our control. Their own privacy policies apply to information you provide to them.
Our services are intended for business owners and business representatives, not children. If you believe a child has provided personal information to us, please contact our Privacy Officer so we can review and address it.
11. Policy changes
We may update this policy when our services, providers or practices change. The current version will be published on this page with an updated date. We will provide additional notice or seek consent when required by law.
